Your comments would be most appreciated on this design which I came up with while messing in Circuitlab with buffers and JFET followers.

https://www.circuitlab.com/circuit/bg43yy/hybrid-buffer-v1/

By putting a MOSFET in at the top of a conventional Borbely JFET follower, I am getting some very good characteristics including great signal swing and low static current consumption.

Static current draw is 550 uA, and the circuit will swing 8V peak-peak from a 9V supply.

This design is/was intended for an onboard guitar buffer, operating from 9V.
Circuitlab doesn't have distortion measurement capability but if someone wanted to they could load up LTSpice or something else and check it for hi-fi use.
