Hi all.
So I need to replace the volume pot in my Audio Design Model 1 preamp, with the volume all the way CCW, can still hear audio, at a very low level.
It is a 25k pot and after some searching I have not come up with suitable replacement.
Question is, can I just use a Alps 20k pot without to many repercussions?
I am providing pictures, as someone may know the brand of the original pot and know of a replacement.
I have the schematic of the preamp if needed.
Cheers,
David

The pots look like CTS old USA parts. They are custom to the OEM Mfg. The Alps pots should work fine. The 20k vs 25k should not be a problem. The hole and pins for mounting into the PCB may have to be enlarges and wire jumpers to the pots. The good news is that the PCB is single sided.
Good luck. Duke

Hi.
So does anyone have a good suggestion for a volume pot?
I was thinking of an Apls Blue, but unsure of which one to purchase.
Any other suggestions are welcome.
So if I can get away 20k pot that should not be to much grief to switch out, may take some wiring changes.
Thanks.
David.

Hi all.
Again can anyone suggest a specific model of Alps pot as a replacement?
There are so many, and I am not real sure what I need.
I may have to seek the advice of a local repair shop...........
David.
Did you come up with a replacement pot for this. I have the same preamp with the same issue.
Thanks
Dan
