Default Hifi from german studio modules - help wanted

Hi all. Been a lurker for some time, as I have, sometimes unhealthy, love of old gear. I just recently picked up a few Klein + Hummel OX monitors, an old EMT record player, some balanced RIAAs and a few other bits from a studio guy that moved from his house and did not have the room anymore. Sad, but hes old and hadnít really used anything for a while.

Anyway, as studio gear should be the best sounding gear available, I thought that getting a sound chain of old German modules would be great to try out, and being somewhat impulsive, got me two Neumann W44sta, a Neumann V475-2 and a Neumann V472-2. So, what I want to do initially is to connect two turntables, one mono, one stereo, a Slimdevices Squeezebox and maybe a tuner. I just dont know how. Any threads on sites on designing sound chains?

As I see it, I would need a switch box with one stereo input for each source, and one output to the fader, connected to the V472 Ė but do I really need the V475?

Or should I get active inputs, i.e. one line amp for each source?

And what about the unbalanced inputs? I also got a few nice DI boxes with Jorgen Shou transformers, (0,50,250 to 600 and 50, 200, 500 to 100K & 25K), can I use those?

Help and suggestions definitly appreciated.

Hi,
I'm also a fan of those German studio modules. I'm not familiar with this exact Neuman W44sta module. Active 2-channel fader?
I have built a simple preamp using a LAWO W990VS. Such unit can work as a 2-channel pre on its own. I guess that is also true for the W44sta. But I have implemented unbalanced RCA connections. The input transformer of the W990VS has two primarys (series connection for +6dB, parallel for 0dB). Hence balanced can be done with a modification. The output tranformer has only a single secondary though.
In my case I just had to add a source selector, 24V PS for the active fader unit ...done.
The 472 has a lot of gain. Maybe this is not needed. Often used for microphone if i recall correctly. No need to use this one after the W44sta as its output schould be strong enough to drive crazy long lines.
The 475 is a 0-Ohm summing amp with variable gain. Also most likely not needed.
Just make shure to recap the modules. They are about 40 years old.
Is the RIAA already in the EMT? If yes, together with the W44sta and a power amplifier of your choice this is a nice, minimalistic setup...Daddy like:-)
