So, this will be my third build (AMB Mini3 and 2 Millett Jonokuchis) and I'm HOOKED!
Decided the next logical was to build the DCPP. However, I'm having a hard time deciding on a suitable preamp. Any help would be appreciated. A few points:
*Phono stage not necessary as I haven't gotten into vinyl yet. And when I do, I'll likely want to build a dedicated unit.
*Keep in mind my build history...I'm still a newbie...
*Was considering the AMB Labs alpha 10 any thoughts?
*Tube vs. SS...well tubes look pretty cool, but I'm open to anything...
*Don't need a ton of source inputs/outputs
Thanks again!

Tried a couple different SS preamps with my DCPP, but the old basket-case Foreplay II sounds the best despite it's extreme simplicity. If I wasn't spinning vinyl, and CD was my only source, I'd be very tempted to try Pete's "low mu" preamp, but I need more gain.

Was considering both of these. However the Bottlehead is a little too 'kittish" if that makes sense. I'd prefer just a board and BOM...
I'm very tempted to try the "low mu" as well. Only thing holding me back is the point to point wiring. I haven't done point to point before and am slightly intimidated...
