My recently acquired Forte F44 preamp has a loud buzz when I use the unbalanced CD input, and the buzz is variable with the volume, and the source can be heard underneath. The previous owner was using the balanced inputs, so after reading the manual, I pull the top off and moved the blue jumpers to the left. All of the other inputs sound great, the buzz is only present if a cable is connected, and if I move the jumpers back to BAL or remove them, there is no source sound but also no buzz.
