analog 3.5mm to digital usb possible?

If I don't have this in the correct section folks, my aoplogies...


Looking to find out if anyone has done this or knows a device that will.

• I have a GPS unit that has turn by turn directions through an 3.5mm analog output plug.
• I have a Sony headunit that has a USB digital input on the front of it.
• Is there anything out there that will allow the conversion of the analog to digital signals? I find a ton of stuff the other way around but not A-D

Any help would be appreciated.

Read up on the TI's PCM2902 to find out what is involved and than install an audio-in jack in the head unit. E

This will work, but you might need to adapt the analog level (and change out the XLR connector): Microphone to USB Lead : Audio Recording : Maplin Electronics

I appreciate it but this goes the opposite direction. I'm trying to get analog to digital.

I am using a PCM2902B USB Audio Codec in a portable design, it works great with WinXP. Another Burr-Brown masterpiece. Used the hi-performance regulator option exactly as shown in the app notes & eval brd. Only 16-bit however, but it is fine for what I need.
