I have looked online and have not seen a pre amp kit that is meant to be used with a seperate subwoofer.

Volume control can be two channel and the sub(0.1) can be following these levels after summing.

Does that mean I can "split" the signal with my mini-dsp crossover/eq after the pre-amp. Forgive my ignorance.

Hi Keager,

I am also new to this pre-amp DIY stuff. I just started a thread here yesterday and I am trying to do basically the same thing you want to do.
If I understand it correctly, you can in fact "split" or tap the signal after the volume control, to go both to a summing circuit (L+R goes in, and one signal comes out for the subwoofer output) and to the regular amplifier outputs that feed the amplifier that powers your regular speakers.

You can have a look at my thread here: LP/HP crossover for 2.1 DIY preamp?

Although no one has yet replied to my posts

Thanks for the info. I'm quite certain my mini dsp will do all crossover duties just fine. I'm just trying to find a complete pre amp kit now that. Is staright forward and a proven good design. I'm needing the case and all.
