Every time I turn the 48v phantom power off on my dav it makes a squeaking noise which comes from the unit it'self as well as through the audio into my rme. I guessing it's a cap getting over charged or something. Anyway is this even possible and how might I go about checking it besides visually, I have a DMM etc. Also it only happens when a mic is plugged in and on for a while say 1-2 hours. It all works fine but just a little worried about it breaking. Or maybe it's just normal! Can anyone help me out?

Hi
I would check that the internal op amp(s) are not loose in their sockets, check also op amps are in the right way. Some info here regarding op amps and orientation
opamp - opamp construction

Cheers / Chris
