As I have too many projects and am concentrating on amps, I don't want to build a preamp right now. So I am trolling for recommendations on a very good sonically analog buffered line stage with remote. If one of the newer but non HDMI so obsolete AV preamps fit this bill, it would be handy for future use. (A PCM input for future TV duty, not the critical listening duty) Most pres were judged buy their phono stage which I do not need. It needs good low impedance output. I am most wary of electronic level controls but the flip is many of the motorized ones are noisy and sealed so they can't be cleaned. So who has the cleanest analog stage out there that is affordable used. In other words, not Krell, but not a cheap NAD either. If it was merely decent, but not too difficult to clean up later, that's OK too.
