I've been following nathanjh13 thread pretty closely so I can have a starting point on my quest. Here's my new JD that came in a few days ago, I hooked it up just to make sure it was working properly before I peeled the lid off. I'm cutting out pieces of sound dampening material throughout the case. I have quite a few pairs of tubes on hand as well as a thetubestore.com - Audio vacuum tubes for your amplifier. recommended pair of Tung Sol's that I'm gonna start off with. I also have some opamps (LT1128's, OPA627's & AD797's) sitting around waiting to be used. I have a pair of each, just gonna figure in what spot I'm gonna put each pair. Also got a pair of obbligato caps 1.0uF 630V.
