I have many parts to place in a preamp/active xo/amp, but I'm wondering if it's ok to place the amp modules (Hifimediy T2) next to the rca inputs? I've placed the toroid and the amps in the opposite corner already next to the IEC socket, but i'd like to place the amps next to the inputs to organize things better. Will this color the sound at all or will I be ok?

Hi Frosteh
The usual criteria is that there be no electromagnetic fields nearby and you have located the toriod away . Air is a excellent insulator, so OK. The input leads which as I understand are in this example unbalanced, should be shielded ideally in a similar manner to coax, with a shield around the outer part and connected to ground. Cheers / Chris |
