B1 Buffer Preamp

for a tube pre 'kit', I would choose Broskie

but I don't understand why a tube crossover needs additional gain preamp ?
wouldn't a buffer do ?

There are many good preamp kits available, even more DIY, Pass, Borbely, Aikido all come to mind.

1: Does it need gain? If so, how much? Edit: saw 6dB. Can you not get that in the xover?

If you want good "kits" you can try those on BottleHead web site, there pretty good!

Alot of the time people ask questions not for the correct answer or difference of opinion but for reinforcement and affirmation of their answer/opinion.

Certainly we've all been guilty of this.
