Preamp version 2
Hi, attached is the corrected schematic.
Note: the opamp in the schematic was just a random one to get the thing to simulate - a type recommended is a TL071 . Thanks to Mooly and Bonsai for their input - plenty of things to consider in future designs! |

The opamp is fine as drawn.
D1 that has appeared. Very sensible for battery powered equipment. Only comment is that it robs the circuit of around 0.7 volt... and on battery thats important. You could add a diode in inverse parallel across the supply (using say a In4001 type) that would protect the circuit. Depending on the battery and how much curent was available that could overheat the 10 ohm... Personally I would go with inverse parallel and keep as much voltage as possible for the circuit.

A diode snubber usually refers to a diode across an inductive load such as a relay coil etc.
I don't know a diode across the supply has an official name tbh  Reverse polarity protection I guess.
