I love reading Hi-Fi mags, i buy one every Sunday to read at work. The last had a great article about some guys home made Kit, huge Horns and wires everywhere, Belt drive CD!! They are also full of so much Rubbish (not my first choice for words, but i am new). There is an article about the new Dynavector P-75 Phono Stage, which "gets the best from moving coil cartridges by short circuiting them with zero ohms and then taking the current rather then the voltage".They also wont do blind tests with power conditioning cables because there is not enough space".
I am not an EE so can some one explain what shorting with zero ohms entails and how do you take current and not voltage...I am quite serious, i dont claim to know much but that sounds like "skyhooks" or "drop bears" |

Search for "I-to-V converters." We've had some lively discussions of that loading method (it's not new). Consensus is that there's no consensus. My guess is that it's a good idea for some cartridges and not others.
