I have looked all around and can't find a BOM that lists the parts for the Lightspeed from one source...I live in Norway and shipping for 3 different suppliers for a few bucks worth of parts could almost buy me a Goldpoint Attenuator
I want to build the Lightspeed Attenuator, and have found some of the parts from one bom at conrad.com, but not the "PCB Terminal Wago", the item nr comes up empty, and I dont know what other alternativ I could choose. Also wich volume pot? Anyone, please |

Uriah sells matched LDR's and pcb.I'm sure you can find the rest locally.

Seems Uriah has a kit with pcb and match ldr's for sale on his site. Might just go with that.

I don't know the B1 but I've built and still use (in different systems . . . ) both the Lightspeed and The Lighter Note.
There's certainly nothing wrong with the Lightspeed but IMHO The Lighter Note sounds significantly better. It can be obtained as a complete kit bar the case and mains wiring. Provided there are no interface issues (e.g. the Sowter O/P transformers on my "spare" DAC don't like driving an LDR-based circuit but that's unusual), both devices were a step up from a stepped attenuator. If you decide to go for the Lightspeed, you'll need to specify and build your own power supply - go for the cleanest you can afford. It does matter. HTH Dave |

Thanks for the input. I've read some people use it with the B1, and I think I'll give it a try, when the time comes. I am thinking a standalone box housing the psu's for B1 and Lightspeed with a Velleman K1823 and a toroid for the B1 and I'll have to find something appropriate for the lightspeed.
