reusing a 3-way crossover

I'm really new to this so please done flame to to bad. I have some pioneer 3 way floor speakers that I never used in my basement and I want to reuse the tweeter and mid in a box I'm making. I was wondering if I could use the same 3 way crossover that came int he box and just cut off the wires that would go to the woofer or tie the wires together and cap them off, so I would only be using the high and mid part of the crossover.

Sure. Beware that if they are budget Pioneers, the XO may consist of 2 elco caps.

Thanks for the quick reply. When you said "elco caps" does that refer to the brand of caps or type of caps? The ones on the board say SPT.
