Indeed interesting. The audio specs are not much different from Crystal's CS3318 family, or TI's PGA family, but the uncommitted opamp is flexible, IF you need it...

The high signal levels are a pre for pro work, but useless for home hifi.

I thought so, even the data sheet illustrations looked familiar! The 8416 I think?

Edit: 8816. Still have the data sheet.

Found there's already a thread on this. I posted up the link because the datasheet had a very recent date on it - seems its not such a new part as that date suggests.

I've prototyped AD603 in the I/V stage of a DAC, sounds transparent to me. Still playing with AD605.
