After looking inside the gfp-715, it looks like is has it's roots from the gfp-565, with the bus bars, ground plane, etc.

Does anyone know of areas that could be improved?

Does the audio signal pass through the balance pot (which is alot cheaper looking than the volume pot, the volume pot looks like an alps) -- or does it just adjust the gain (kind of like the gfp-750)

it does have a bypass output with no capacitors in the signal path, no tone controls etc.

There are op amps in this preamp--

near the balance control there are 2x OPA604AP's

and 2x OPA604AP's for the bass/treble (probably switched in with tone-in)

is the fact that it uses op-amps a bad thing? (vs fully discreet components)

would it be worth it to drop in some OPA627BP's
