balanced line level baffle step circuit

I build a crossover using passive line level filters between B1 buffers and i am am very very happy with the results. For simplicity i used balanced shunt attenuators for the volume setting for the high pass and low pass.

I now want to add baffle step control. I found a circuit that reduces treble on
Baffle Step Compensation

But i want to make the attenuation not fixed but variable tith volume control and i am thinking of a circuit like a balanced shunt attenuator. Does anyone have experience with this or ideas on how to design this?

Something like this might be a simple solution for you. (R4/R5 represent the input resistance of your destination.)
R3 could be made adjustable to give you a little variability. (It would shift the turnover point as well.)

Hope that helps.

Dave.
