It is a sad day for DIY audio.

Mr. Borbely, thanks you for all the insights you have openly shared with us. I have learned a great deal from you.
And I wish you health and happiness for many more years to come.

Best regards,
Patrick

indeed a sad day, I have known this was coming for a while, the announcement will force me to pull out all stops to get the IV and reg kits I have been eyeing off for a while now.

thanks for the insights indeed Erno!

Thanks for the heads up. The Borbely kits are top notch. I am completing a a setup now and will post pictures after enclosures are finished (probably another thread). With so much good music available, I look forward to using it and feel fortunate that Erno and Irene have shared with us their many talents.

I have also learnt a lot (but still not enough) from Erno Borbely. I hope he will find the time to publish more articles.

It is also the time to purchase something, so I have something to remember him by.

Thank You

The years go by like pailings on a picket at thousnd miles an hour. Actually the speed seems to increase exponentially the older you get.

I just hope Erno isn't quitting because of health reasons.

Best wishes for the future.

I've built and enjoyed Erno's kits for the past 20 years and currently use his DAC, 320 phonostage with 2sk147 and 2sj72 inputs, line amp, millenium power amp ( soon to be biamped with Erno's crossover and 2 more milleniums) and his shunt regulators.

His patience and technical advice as i hit problems and assembly errors were greatly appreciated. A gentleman and greatly respected for his achivements. I've learnt a lot from him.

Sad to see this happen.

Sure, I always imagined this to be a tough niche, as the amateurs usually complain about the price of the kits and the pros do their own pcbs; with only few people in between.

Of course I wish Erno all the best for the future, thanks for all the articles and support for us DIYers.

yeah I contacted him about a month ago and he put me onto someone in asia that was supposed to be taking care of things or at least some things, wanted to get some supershunts, Erno copied the email to me, but I never heard anything from the new place, wanted about 1.5-2k worth of stuff. pity I wanted to snag a bit of history.

Erno on the other hand was always helpful prompt. you will be missed mate
