Hi, Mr. Curl!
No. I hope it will not happen, but if it happen... I also wanted to use schematics as "Owner's Manual" to see the meaning of direct input and output. |

Hi Mr. Curl!
I'm here again with some questions... This weekend I got time to look inside of my preamp. It's great :-) Here we go with questions... 1. Am I right that direct input is being selected via relay and not via chip? 2. Don't you know/remember by chance the type of diodes used in power supply? 3. Do you have any tweak suggestions? OP amps, etc... Regards, Kabal_MSU |

Your questions are reasonable, but I do not have the schematic in front of me or on my computer. You should leave the diodes alone, and the op amps. The interconnecting wire is suspect, but that is beyond this website to discuss, and will only lead to big trouble around here. Keep it clean on the inside and enjoy it. That is the best that I can offer.

Hi Mr. Curl!
What are you talking about? If we're talking about the way the signal from direct input comes to main circuitry, I meant that it goes through small relay from OMRON and not through chip similar to TC9152P in my old P/HP-850.Regards, Kabal_MSU |

Hi Mr. Curl,
sorry for necro-posting , but now I need your advice. So, just by chance I found out that my preamp runs quite hot - top cover is about 36 - 40º Celsius. After removing the cover, I can't touch the heatsinks next 3 - 4 minutes. I also noticed that big white capacitors on the preamp board are a little bit sooty on the side turned to heatsinks. My question is quite simple: is it OK or not? (Unit is not blocked from above, room temperature is about 22º Celsius.) If not - I'll appreciate for any helpful hint! (Should I check the bias?) Regards, Kabal_MSU |
