Hi guys, I am reasonably new to audio electronics, and after some advice of how to set up a sound system the way I want.
The source will be a computer or ipod output. I want electronic volume control of the sound, most likely feed from a computer -> D/A converter. I believe this is done through a VCA, correct? Can anyone suggest a good circuit for this? I then need to feed it into a power amp, the room is about 4m * 4m, and doesnt have to be extremely loud, but that is always fun! I am thinking about 60W. Would this be powerful enough?/ too powerful for the effort involved? Again, can anyone suggest a circuit? (I have looked on forums, but don't completely understand what is being said, so a bit unsure!) Is there any other things I need? (Do I need a pre amp if feed is from an ipod?) Thanks heaps, suggestions on anything would be much appreciated! |
