Question Analogue any good in Sangean HD?

I'm interested in getting a digital radio tuner (just can't bring myself to call it "HD Radio") and the Sangean HD1x seems to be the only game in town that is remotely affordable. Has anyone listened to one of these? How is the analogue quality?

I know that first model had some issues but with "forced analogue mode" the main complaint seems to be addressed provided the analogue section is decent.

BTW my current tuner is an old (25-30 years?) MCS AM/FM which sounds quite good in FM with only a wire dipole. I'd hate to take a step backward from that!
