Hi Andy,

Since my power wire true earth is already disconnected (although at the amp), I should not disconnect it at the wall plug as well, because then any measurement would be futile. The comment about disconnecting the earth at the plug is intended for amps in enclosures, where the enclosure would normally be connected to the earth, but - as we discussed earlier - this is not the case in my system

Signal wires should definitely be disconnected, and since mine are soldered in place, I will have to get out the soldering iron to do that.

I use European Schuko type mains plugs that have the earth connections on the sides, which makes it very easy to reverse the plugs for this test. Normally, Schuko plugs have no indication of which pin is "hot", but I have marked mine to ensure that "hot" goes to the correct pin in the IEC plug at the other end of the power cord.

Cheers,

Jens

Well, yesterday I at long last sent my order to Hugh for 2 x NAKSA 80s, to replace my 4 Lifeforce modules in my 3-way active system.

So I look forward to making the swap in the New Year.

A merry Christmas to everyone.

Regards,

Andy

Picked up my 2 x N80s on Sunday. Won't get around to swapping out my 4 Lifeforce modules for a month or two, though. An update will follow, at that time.

Regards,

Andy

Default Quick question!

Hi folks,

Just wondering, can you tell me if the naksa 80 is phase reversed or not?
I.E. a posative signal at the input produces a posative signal at the output.

Thanks.

Yes, Roy, it is a non-inverting amplifier, so positive signal at the input generates an output positive.

Cheers,

Hugh

Lovely speakers, Patrick. I've heard of Tony Gee, he is a very clever designer.......
