Asynchronous I2S FIFO project, an ultimate weapon to fight the jitter

@ Thermio

The new LifePO4 Mini has this feature, it called continuous output. It will be in pure mode when it's turned on, and will be continuous in charge mode without stop when it's turned off. This feature was specially designed for powering clock oscillators.

UcPure also has the same feature.

Implement this feature on LifePO4 MKIII is also possible. I'll let you know if you really want.

Ian

Thanks guys, I was wondering if I was missing something. Thank you Ian, I would be very happy to know how to to do this with LIFEPO4 MKIII!

LifePO4 MKIII has built in 3.3V high current battery charger, so it can be configured as 3.3V continuous output mode. To do so, you will

1. You can use J25 rather than J4 for the 3.3V continuous output of BT7
2. You can use J24 rather than J3 for the 3.3V continuous output of BT6

If you want a higher voltage continuous output, you have to use
UcPure for 15V, or
Two LifePO4 Mini 6.6 for 13.2V

Ian

hi Wong,

in that case you are good.

but the Crystek sounds very precise, overly pin point where the Accusilicons sound more fluid. I have been writing about this somewhere here and also on my blog.

so you might want to consider that aspect. "better" for <200$ I do not know of any option which is worth it

Hi Doede, i have read your blog post before. Thanks for your experience sharing.

Seeam that the Neutrino 2 Reference Clocks near my budget.
Maybe, I can wait for the price information about AXTEL /TWTMC-DRIXO before make a choice.

Ultracap Termination Style for UcPure

Hi Ian,

Does Termination Style matter for the UcPure? Or do you basically need just a positive and negative termination bar along with a third-party balancing board?

The traditional method is based on Maxwell threaded UC, but there are other 3000 F+ UC with different termination styles. Unfortunately, the available Skeleton Technologies 3200 F is of cylindrical termination style. I don't know if there are balancing boards for 'cylindrical'. Can you weld a 'screw' type to a 'cylindrical' type thus making it a 'screw' type for a third-party balancing board?

The attached photos are from a complete balancing kit but they use the 'screw' termination style not 'threaded'.

Thanks Ian. It helps plenty to open more doors.

Since all this is foreign territory, I can consider a kit to simplify if it makes sense. It's just the kit is older tech, but still 3000 F so need to balance simplicity versus latest and greatest.

That would be great after the dust settles on the Group Buy to demo the balancing board off Amazon. As of now I don't know where else to source.

The kit from Mouser is for a future 15V build in a year. Just keeping options open like if I split the 3 balancing boards from the kit, I can use now for 5V.

I'm just going to start off slow with 5V, so need a simple balancing board + a couple of Tecates / Eaton. But I prefer a brand name balancing board if available like the kit.

If there is a way to use the above balancing board with the UcPure, then maybe there's a chance we can use Alligator clips to clip on the Skeleton Technologies SCA3200 (arriving at Mouser soon) since Termination Style is irrelevant? Or solder wire onto bar / tip?...
