I'm having issues updating my MPD library. Used to work fine before, that is, I jumped from Moode 3.x to 7.0


Current Moode version on an RPi3, reading data over NAS, is Release: 7.0.0 2020-12-15.


So, basically, I have a NAS where all my FLAC files are stored. If I buy a CD (and I do!), I rip it to FLAC and copy it over to the NAS inside an MPD subfolder. Then I go and upate library through the menu. Funnily, it's worked before with 7.0.0 on a couple of CD's I ripped about a month ago, but it seems not to work now.



Any hint as to where I should be looking would be greatly appreciated. Permissions are set to 0x644, so that should be ok.

Now moOde updates the thumbnail library automatically, which is a nice feature on paper but a royal PITA for those that have large libraries. First of all, the update spinning thingy seems only to spin during MPD update. And then, while the system is rescanning ALL the covers, instead of only the directories where there have been changes, the system is unable to render the web pages correctly. The only reason I have not filed a bug report is that this is seems to be by design and a bit complicated to re-code in practice.

The thumbnail generator runs independently of MPD database update as part of the "Update library" process. It runs in the background and searches all the album directories but only writes new thumbnails that it finds. The only time all thumbnails are written afreash is when "Regenerate album cover thumbnail cache" is run from Library Config.

The UI is perfectly usable while the thumbnail generator is running. Thumbs are displayed as they are written to the cache or after page refresh, etc.

moOde already has fully integrated CamillaDSP but there are no MPD plugins that implement the protocols for the endpoints you mentioned so it's not really something that our project could look at.

Hi guys,
one question.
I have a R4 with moode installed and it works perfectly.
Till last week I was streaming tidal from my iPhone using Lumin, but now it is not working anymore. I have an error loggin on Tidal on the app...
I tried Teac app (which looks like a lot like Lumin) bust still same problem.
I tryied MConnect and I was able to connect, but as soon as I start a stream it stops.
Do you have any suggestion regardin those problems?
Can you suggest an app on iOS to stream Tidal to Moode? (actually i would like moode to play the song, using the app only as a remote, not using Tidal connect from the Tidal app).

Indeed Tidal have made a change which means that apps like Linn Kazoo, which I was using, no longer work. I think it's all part of their drive to sell licenses to equipment manufacturers and cut out people like us.
The only way I know of now with iOS/MacOS/Moode is to stream Tidal via Airplay, which I find pretty unsatisfactory.
Roon may be good, but it's also expensive.
