Signalyst DSC1

Hi Pavel here is the image for RCA OUTPUT from the website for the transformers. It is different to what you suggested and while I am sure YOU are correct it has left me confused.

Do not use GND conn from Prim to sec. The pount is to have galvanic isolation all lines. Not to continuing AD ground to A...
Second try Neumann style prim connection - Without CT tap on primary connected to ground.

And repotr results :)
cheers

The Amanero version is 2003. But it still works only in Linux. Windows drivers are not ready yet.
I had the opportunity to compare LL1527XL and Chinese transformers. I like Chinese more.
I already wrote, GB will be opened only after I assembled and check the release version. This forum thread is not commercial, I will not here call the price.

Please put some link to the Chin. Trans?
Tnx :)

Because of the large number of people who want to buy DSC2, I have to open this Group Buys DSC2 for sale.
Unfortunately it's against my rules. The release of this dac is not yet accemble but I do not want the main branch of DSC1 to get littered with commercial issues.

I'm sorry that the 'me to' posts have obliged you to initiate the Group buy before you're ready Pavel. I'll add my requirement to the Group Buy thread but I'm happy to wait until you're content that all is well with the new boards.

In the meantime, I have ordered the PCBs to experiment with my TPA Cronus reclocker between the Amanero and the DSC2 board I already have. Hopefully I'll be able to report back in a couple of weeks.

:up:
Yes, i would like to know how will perform.

Yes...

I am interested in how this performs as well... The ability to take a Pulsar Clock intrigues me.
I have a DIYINHK XMOS board that should work well with the DSC-2 as well, it is capable of DSD 256 by DoP or Native and has the DSD EN and Mute functions required... But of course no isolation and re-clocking like Cronus. At least the XOs are better NDK parts.

You'll need to be cautious, from the group buy thread;

DSC is designed to work with Amanero USB interface. A MUTE signal is required for this DAC. XMOS generates huge pop at the start.

Yep, first testing always with analog volume control set very low. I have Amanero here as well, but I do not share Pavel's opinion that the clocks on it are "good enough"... I like your approach of a new board to adapt Hermes/Amanero though!
Maybe someday Dom at Amanero will get native DSD via Linux fully sorted...

I’m playing native DSD512 with Amanero on Linux (various NAA flavors - Odroid C2/BBB). You need to use a kernel with a patch, or if I’m not mistaken 4.14.x and above has the patch already included.

I personally never patched: I use Debian (Armbian) with 4.14.29 and it’s perfect.

I received the isolator PCBs today. Unfortunately I haven't ordered the components yet as I didn't expect the boards to arrive so quickly. Sorry about the picture quality but you'll get the idea;

I'm running Native DSD without any problems on a Linux platform. I'm running AudioLinux on an Intel NUC configured as an HQP NAA.

To clarify the implementation I plan to try, the isolators are before the Cronus reclocker. which regenerates a new low jitter data stream so any jitter introduced by the isolators should be negated. What is important is the quality of the data stream leaving the reclocker, not the quality of the data stream the reclocker is receiving.

Is any noise introduced by the isolators worse than the noise that you are using them to isolate from?

My own experience has been that a combined isolator/reclocker makes a worthwhile improvement with conventional dacs. I haven't yet compared a DSC2 type decoder with and without one.

In time I'll find out if the theory behind isolation/reclocking stands up in this scenario. I'm trying hard not to prejudge the outcome.
