Plans instruct to cover all internal panels with felt. Is my execution correct? Wasn't sure if I needed to leave a space for the port or more room around the driver. My first build, and it's a small one!
Thanks, Doug

I'd leave out more, remove ~4cm more from the back panel, it actually extends the port. Why did you fold the port? On folded ports it's important to round the edge of the fold. It would have been better to place the port upwards, no folding needed there.
The other side looks good.

It is how we have been doing it forever and has proven to work fine.

That doesn't mean it can't be improved.

The little bit at the end between the vent shelf & the back wall is part of the vent.

Every folding introduces losses, that's a fact. The port dimensions are large enough to have a 'little enough' effect. Bigger ports introduces more mid-garbage exiting the port, which has to be taken care of with the dampening material, which also influences the bass. Every single point might have not have a great impact but it sums up. Why not try it and build one pair with the port up? Really, port folding should be avoided and here it is really no problem to do. That's not for me, that's for you, your future projects and everyone who builds speakers after your plans. The wood is very cheap and I bet it sounds cleaner.

ICG, we posted at the same time, so thank you for the diagram. It is what I had envisioned with the port exiting the top. Have you built this type of enclosure????.

Yes, I've built it that way the first time in 89 I think. It allows bigger dimensioned, longer ports in small to mid sized enclosures. The mids become cleaner, decay waterfall diagram gets cleaner too. Not a change in a huge dimension but still audible. The only possible problem would be if there's a board or bookshelf directly above the speaker blocking the port. You even get a clean front of the speaker.
