@bavmike
Thanks! This really is confusing...
It's only the plate amps that the DIY community will be getting. And it uses a more basic, yet very high quality DSP chip. The OEM 2 by 4 uses a powerful SHARC chip like the KII speakers use.
You can download it here:

Works without a Hypex product connected, so you can play around.....
Cool I'll try that. So is this the same software you use with the 2 by 4 as well?
Well I haven't heard the result yet. I was referring to the GUI compared to the old one.

Can you turn it up? I can't hear!!
Unless you know about better alternatives, they look like game changers to me.
There is a bunch of plateamps and rackamps with class d and dsp in all priceranges. If it has FIR filters and automatic roomcorrection (lyngdorf style) then it would be a gamechanger.

Yes but do they have DSP and amps as good as these? Hypex had an older series as well. DSP plate amps aren't new. But ones of this quality are new to my knowledge.

The 2 by 4 is not controlled by HFD, different software.

Ahh so this is even compatible with the old plates then right? It's been a couple years since I sold my PSC400's. At the time it was a more rudimentary user interface.

The fusion plates use high quality adc/dac from AKM.

That should be a vast improvement from the DSP chip ADC/DAC on the PSC400 then. But I would still like to know how master clock sync is done when you use the digital inputs. Is there Async reclocker chips on the digital inputs?

The amps should be quite good quality

If you are referring to adau1701 as high quality DAC, then almost every cheap DSP plate amp uses these. The more expensive pro audio amps do not use adau family of audio DSP
Like DS23man said, it uses an outboard AKM ADC/DAC. and ASDU1451 DSP chip.

I like that it has built in Dante, but I have compared the Hypex MP series amps to Pascal and no contest. And there is likely a chance that those plates are more expensive.

I think they will be bloody expensive, the Hypex range will be a little more expensive as the old range.
Yes, but if the DIY will only have adau range of DSP, the AdMark also offer very very inexpensive class d modules with DSP. Their DSP price is arround 40-50$ on top of the amplifier price. You also have MiniDSP with ICEpower, Monacor/IMG have amplifiers with DSP and also with Pascal amplifier modules like Four Audio.
It's not very hard to find a class d amp or plate amp with DSP. I don't say Hypex is not great products. Just say that it's not a game changer

What I would like to see on the Hypex plates is a modular, digital bridge card system with Ravenna option like this here:
HEDD?s modular input card system HEDD Bridge
I think for 2017 and beyond, being limited to 80's standard digital protocols is a bit limiting. That new Dante Broadway chip is likely only going to be a few bucks a piece. And supposed to sound better than anything they had before. Those four Audio plates still use the old Ultimo cards.

At the end of the day you can't judge by specsheet's alone. You need to listen. I have heard all of the latest Icepower and Pascal M-Pro-2 and they are nowhere near the MP-502. The Icepower 700-AS sounded broken in comparison to the MP502. Maybe after the Iceedge amps are released it will be a different story though.
1 thing I would really like to see in them is connectivity via Audio over IP. But doesn't look that that's going to happen. Audinate just announced the very first AES67 complaint AOIP ASIC chip today. This should be a game changer as well for active speakers. Only problem is it's limited to 24/96 PCM.
Yes, AES67 is a real game changer (unlike just a slightly better integrated DSP/amp combo). A bunch of people are already pretty far on that path, just check out Genelec, for example.
