Difficulty levels for amp building

As a newbie to building anything electronic I am almost finished with a Tubelab SSE amp. Hopefully I won't run into any problems and it will sound good and look ok.

I'd like to build a Pass Labs amp.

The ACA kit looks like something I could build but I'd rather build something 'more'

Another member talked me into a BA-3 but after reading the building guild it seems like there are too many options that I just don't understand.

The F6 amp looks like the next level of difficulty up from the ACA to build. Is that true?

Can anyone offer suggestions?

Respectfully, I'd suggest that if you built an ACA and understood thoroughly how it all worked, you'd be better off than most of us on the list were when we started (and then some). The important thing with the ACA is that it's completely documented as a standalone project and was designed as an intro that works....

Good luck !

Member 6L6 has threads on many pieces of Pass Gear incl the following links:

Pass F4 - Pass B1 - Pass F5 - Pearl 2 - O2 HPA - Pass Aleph J -Pass F5Turbo - BA-3 Amp - BA-3 Preamp -
F6
AmpCampAmp

You will find that these guides are very well photographed and carry .pdf BoM, schematics etc.

From my study of all threads it appears that the M2 is one of the most favoured amps for those who have deeper experience of Pass DIY amps.

The DIY on line store at the top of DIYaudio forum bar has heatsinks, chassis - even some electrical components for many of these designs.Tea-Bag has boards for the M2...they are very good. See here:

Good luck.

Members 6L6 and Teabag have very good guides on building the following:

Illustrated Build Guides - Pass F4 - Pass B1 - Pass F5 - Pearl 2 - O2 HPA - Hagerman Bugle 2 - Pass Aleph J - Me at BA '13 -Pass F5Turbo - BA-3 Amp - BA-3 Preamp -
F6
AmpCampAmp

Teabag has boards for the M2 - which is my recommendation - and can offer the main components. Grimberg also offers boards.

There is a lot of help on the forum from people who have built working Pass amps.

EDIT
The links on the "how to" stuff have not copied as live links....but they are easy to find. Open any of them and 6L6 has a linked signature to his considerable work!

I have the same question(s) as the OP.
Without reading 30 000 messages in the various threads, which designs/boards use easily available parts? i.e. not 'unobtanium' semiconductors, and preferably don't require buying dozen$$ of transistors in order to end up with a 'matched set' that won't go into thermal runaway?

Thanks!
