Why are you not trying any configurations where you are using a transformer as the actual I/V convertor? I realize that Lundahl doesn't make any porpose-buit DAC transformers, but Sowter does. And Lundahl also does make some amorphous MC transfomers, which seem like they might be suitable in this application, even despite not being specifically designed for this task.

As told before I don't like I/V made with transformers because the frequency response is compromized in high and low range and the sonic performances are not good.
If you see a frequency response of a transfomer I/V you will be shocked.
The best method to create a passive I/V are the resistors.

yes,
EX; op-amps 2134, if use sing op amp, please see link opam 627:

ok, tks.

Quanghao, any news on the casing ?

Once you confirm, I'll send the remaining payment. BTW, if sent by Vietnam post will I get tracking number ? It's OK to wait around 1 month as long as the packet is traceable. To be honest I hate DHL and Fedex due to their unreasonable handling cost.

I broke one of the switches (not sure how, I obviously wasn't careful with it), wondering if I could get the part number to replace it?

On the positive side, I powered it up, and I get a display, and the remote works. I can change volume and some other stuff.

I had a zapfilter laying around, so for now that will be my output stage, still need to connect that, and finish trying it out.

So in a very uncharacteristic way (for me), this project came together very quickly. I recycled an old case which helped a lot, and I had the front made by protopanel which also obviously helped.

When I first listened, I was getting some distortion, and was worried I had a major problem. Turned out to be simple, I just had to turn the output down from 100 to around 80, and it sounds fine at 80.

System is headphone based.

Source is a macbook running Jriver via USB to the DAC END to a Zapfilter 2 to a Lyr amp to HE500 headphones.

Want to let it break in some, but initial reaction is very good.

I ordered a new switch so I can replace it, and then I can install the switches in the front. For now, I just use the remote and it works fine.

How you have connected the Zapfilter 2 (DAC Balanced Voltage output or Balanced Current output) ?

I suggest to you eliminate the resitor I/V 80ohm and use as voltage.
