VSSA Lateral MosFet Amplifier

The Nichicon Muse caps ( 1000uF, 50V ) are too big in size and hide the holes for the VAS transistors. I may buy new ones, Panasonic FR, that are smaller in diameter.
Can you pls post more info?

I have both Panasonic FR series, and Nichicon FG series 1000uFd and they are the same diameter, same lead spacing, just different height. I can post some pics to make sure.

I think it's about Nichicon KZ Muse series ( the highest grade according to Nichicon spec ) ,
Nichicon KZ Muse 1000uF/50 V is 18mmx 40mm ,where FG is 16mmx35mm

No problem.
Now i have another issue. The Nichicon Muse caps ( 1000uF, 50V ) are too big in size and hide the holes for the VAS transistors. I may buy new ones, Panasonic FR, that are smaller in diameter.

Nichicon Muse are fine caps, but 2200 uF is not on their list, that was the reason why I prepare VSSA PCB for Fine Gold series and their dimensions.

Capacitor dimensions for VSSA PCB:

- 10 uF/63 V, MKT, Vishay-Roederstein, 2 pcs
Lead Spacing: 15 mm
External Depth: 8.5 mm
External Height: 17.5 mm
External Width: 18 mm

- 2200 uF/6,3 V, FG, Nichicon, 2 pcs
Lead Spacing: 5 mm
External Diameter: 12,5 mm
External Height: 25 mm

- 1000 uF/50 V, FG, Nichicon, 4 pcs
Lead Spacing: 7,5 mm
External Diameter: 16 mm
External Height: 31,5 mm

Well done Lazy cat! you have created a small monster.;) I am waiting for a member here that is from Brazil to tell me the sound quality compared to another amp that He and I have build. This is killing me hehehehe
Thanks lanchile. :)

I'm waiting for the first GB member to show me working VSSA amp and of course his sound evaluation.

Who will be the first? :Olympic:

8 GB members still to be delivered when ALF mosfets will arrive. I got an official answer from SEMELAB sales. :)

"The current situation with this part is as follows:
This is a double die device, we have one die here (P channel) the N has been rejected at the supplier. They have sent us some samples to do trials on and we are accessing to see if these are usable.
Our die supplier rejected the die as failing. We have in this week a 300 sample batch to qualify these and await the results before we are able to move forward.
Ongoing, when we have resolved the die issue, this will not be a problem part, this is a newer part and one of ours and therefore no plans to make the ALF range obsolete.
We are working to resolve the issue which will be achieved, this has been escalated to the managers in all relevant departments and we are doing our upmost to resolve the current situation. The sample batch will be build over the weekend and testing on Tuesday late afternoon, if the results are positive we will then request the die to be shipped here. Until the samples have been tested we are unable to commit further dates.
I will again update you next week with the results over the weekend.

Kind regards.
