Theres no fans on it now, I can put them back on. It survived 12 years like this with no problem. Devices matched to .01vgs also if it matters, I was told the outputs would not survive reguardless of temp. Well then let's change it or take a chance on changing 2 resistors. That's where im at. Ok and the transformer, or going dc which I origanally envisioned.

any suggestions? Change the transformer and bias? Performance will improve, who's done it? Dc? I'm all ears, I thought this would be easy, im finding the oposite.. But am patient. Like I said I dont know electricity, and the effects as some. I am willing to push the limit however...

:hbeat: Sometimes it's hard to sleep at night, dreaming of what could or might be. I guess I just think over my head at times, since im no expert on anything, but dream I do. like a million watts to get 1, how could it sound? Dunno, I don't think it's ever been done. Kinda like an x10000 that doesn't go klunk

Now im thinking that it would be good for those 244's to rise up slower. Like slow start bias, the heat transfer off the bat might not be good. But over time I think it could contol the chip temp better.. Too many ideas and I need to lay off the coffee..

I want to hear from these awesomely talented folks at diy, what do you think?

I just came up with a new one, I've got these $200 monster cable speaker wires that are too long anyway. Im thinking 0 guage welding wire on bannana jacks, i will keep it short as possible. It's cheaper than silver... I guess I read too much and need lower octane coffee...

More bias doesn't always mean better sound quality, lower efficiency also doesn't mean better quality. Your better off using to power to build an amp with higher output power not wasting it on bias current.

I also think you need to learn some very basic electronics, those sinks can't dissipate 900W and keep those devices from failing.

I know they can't do 900w each, but they can do 450w a piece. That is all im looking for. Maybe find the sweet spot. I have been told that increasing this bias will improve this amp, but at some point it won't. Big amp, yeah I have one i'm thinking of that the world has probably never seen. And your right, I do need to know more about electronics. Thank you very much for your input, it made my day

I appreciate all the responses, I do. Yet all I want is a real answer as to if this amp can take it. Maybe there is no answer because nobody ever did it and that's ok. 2x bias, I do think it would make it, worst case is I take a step backwards, "which sometimes you have to do", and replace 244's... What is to loose? What is to gain?
