Don't start me on HP's call centre!!

As for Actors I don't have a favourite. Favourite is a word that is not really in my vocabulary, it is a very strange concept for me. There are so many good things in life that I can't choose one over another and say it is my favourite :)

Tony.

I saw a lecture/demo on TV where Michael Cain was demonstrating to a grad school audience techniques between stage, film, and TV. He had the students do a piece, then he would do it. There are no words to describe the level of craft he displayed. .

Then there was a man who did his "acting" on paper. Tex Avery. The best of the best.

PS,
Gee, I thought by his English, Lewis was a High School Graduate form our nation's capital school system.

The best actor is one that "becomes" the character to the point where you no longer see the actor, only this other person. Tom Cruise, and many other 'actors' portray themselves trying to be a character. The fellow who does the "Die Hard" series, is a good example, it's always him, not another person.

You may not even recognize who is doing this metamorphosis, because frequently they do not get the sort of star status they deserve.

Something to consider.

My next door neighbor is an assistant principal at North Dallas High, where Avery went (and the expression, "What's up, doc?" originated). I haven't seen it yet but she tells me there is a mini-museum there with lots of neat old memorabilia dedicated to him.

I am not sure I even know what Sir Laurence looked like. He was THAT good. Little sleeper: Sluth. Larry and Michael.

"Cruise!?!?!! Cut me loose...."

just what i wanted to say, bear. (but you said it better)

early sean penn comes to mind. daniel craig used to character acting brilliantly but not so much after he;s become an a-list alpha male.

An antique wireless forum I frequent in the UK has an area for discussions about modern technology, but this is only accessible/visible to people who have posted in the other areas first. This keeps out the "My TV doesn't work, what should I do?" questions from the great masses. Maybe 'The Lounge' ought to have a similar lock on the door? There are other sites for people who only want to talk about books and actors.

Ricardo Darín from Argentina is very good representing "porteño" (People in Buenos Aires, Argentina), and Olmedo from Rosario, is/was very good (comic) actors here in my 3rd world.

And from the USA, Moe, Larry, Curly and Shemp, but the original ones, not this last poor remake. At my 43´s they still make me laugh very much.
