Hypex Ncore

We do not have plans to upgrade the AS2.100 or the PSC2.400 with the NCORE Class D technology. Only the NC400 is our flagship product....

Of couse, but if I understand the whitepaper correctly the UCD line will be revised and improved also with new better comparator and other improvements ( Though not the control loop specific to the NCore). I think I remember Bruno or someone else at Hypex saying the UCD400OEM was already revised, just wondered what the ETA is until whole line is revised and if I as a buyer from your webshop somehow can assure I get a new revised version =)

I think Bruno said that the UCD400OEM is next up for an upgrade based on the ncore advances, but the UCD250LPOEM is the one that has some of the "ncore" advances already implemented. Its distortion measurements looks really good too. Much better than the other UCD variants at low power, but not as good as the nc400 of course. And it has no input buffer.

cheers,

Ah...ok...the AS2.100 uses our UcD180LP, this module is already with the upgrade comparator design and ' other' improvements we found during the development of NCORE(R).

I just completed building a Hypex amp -- the modules for which I purchased several years ago, but until recently I just did not have the time to build that amp. It is the 180ST180 power supply module and two UCD180 amp modules, the version before that ST. Just closed up the case a few hours ago, so I am finished. The sound is nothing less than spectacular. So open, so clear, so quiet. Plenty of bass and slam when required. Lovely high end. So much for my tube amp. Thank you Hypex for making such great amps and for selling to DIYers. This amp is so good i am already thinking i need to build an N core.

Jan-Peter and Bruno or anybody else who may know,

I just had a quick look at the data sheets, and it seems that the UCD700OEM module along with some of the other OEM modules, have changed with lower distortion plots.

Is this due to that these modules have been upgraded with the new comparator design and "other" improvements found during the ncore development?

cheers,

Sexy looking is having several modules placed in a slim chassis IMO.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

I'm waiting for HFX to send me a quote for this case without the innards, so without the psu and HD enclosures. `Should save some money, those cases are ±300 EURO with the psu and hd enclosures, which is a lot, considering what they actually are.

Matjans,

The HFX enclosure that you have found is really neat looking to my eyes!
Please share what you find regarding the usefulness and price for these low dark night riders ;-)
If they have a price policy that makes it interesting to purchase larger quantities, it could also be worth taking into account. I can just imagine how evil a bunch of these would look in my all black atacama rack -especially when I occasionally enjoy a late night listening when everything is quiet and listening room is not polluted by too much light ;)

Good work everybody!!

My mono blocks are finished :) Im sorry but I can´t comment on the sound until my DAC is done (i dont have any balanced XLR sources at the moment)

I´ve only tested them for a short while on some cheap speakers (Dali Concept 2) in a unfamiliar listening environment from bad source (analog out from a built in soundcard) thru a Mackie mixer. Yeah not the ideal setup! so not a good reference. It was only to check if there was sound out.

But from what I could hear my impressions was that they sounded very accurate and controlled.
