Are these optimised for the LAB15s? I assume they are not and that they are the horns that you built for the 3015LF.

They are optimized for a number of pro 15 inch speakers such as B&C, Beyma etc.
I just put the numbers from Lab-15 in to Hornresp and was quite surprised it turn out so good.
Got a good 4-5Hz lower extention and good senitivity.
Trade off is the flatnes of frequency - a little peaky, but not more than tolerable.
In cluster of four these are able to knock down items from the shelfs in nearby buildings.:D

did you use any bracings/deflectors ?
you could put casters and corner handels on the back,so one person can move them around.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Thanks for the advice, the handles in use are no good and will be swiched to something else.
The original plan was to put wheels on them.
The "problem" is that the boxes are in use allmost every weekend, but i hope for a few days off so i can put topcoat (Warnex) on them and put in some bracing.
If i get the time i will try some deflectors too!:)

As it looks now i have to build four more of these because next summer they will be at a large outdoor show here in Norway.:)

"efficiency" is more a product of the horn rather than the driver.
I cant say i noticed any overall SPL change form 3015LF to LAB-15 other than more 35-40Hz omph.
As of powerhandling, i'm not sure, right now i use 550watts and its not enough, i can clearly hear the amplifier is reaching its limit.
Compared to other PA's i have heard i will say their force lay in their ability to reach down i frequency - the deep bass is really impressive.
According to Hornresp four will do 140dB @ 40Hz without exeding x-max.
For me (living in Norway) buying 18 sound is out of the question, it cost 3 times more than the Lab-15.

I didn't know that was the case. I was referring to current prices here in the USA. LAB 15 is $280 from parts express. 88.5 db 1w/1m. Add 6db from
Horn loading, that's 94.5 db 1w/
18sound 2400 Is 340 from loud speakers plus. 98db 1w/1m. Plus horn loading that's 104db. I doubt doubt 18sounds specs either.

Anyway I'm sure it's a good setup, but amp power might cost you more to reach the same goal.

Any actual measurements from the cabs?

@Dag: Nice build! What are the outer dimensions of the cabinet?

@ m R g S r: Adding 6 dB to the sensitivty mark isn't very accurate. The less sensitive driver will gain relative more sensitivity then the already sensitive driver in the same horn enclosure. Up to a point it will raise the driver efficiency to a number defined by the enclosure. There the difference might only be a few dB, or less.

It's always good to doubt the sensitivity given by (about any) manufacturer, is often best to calculate it yourself:

n0: Fs^3 x Vas / Qes x 9.6 e10-8 (%) This is for Vas in liters, only the constant is different for Imperial.

18LW2400: 2.96% (96.7 dB/W/m) That's also given in the specs by 18Sound by the way (just use the lowest number you can find in the pdf ;)

LAB15: 0.59% (89.7 dB/W/m)

1/2-Space sensitivity: 10 x log [n0(%)/ 100] + 112

Best regards Johan

@rademakers: Outer dimentions are 51 x 72 x 80cm. (20 x 28 x 31,5 inches for our English/Americans friends)
@Samuel Jayaraj: the number are there for you to simulate yourself in the begining of this tread.
I would not recomend 18LW2400 or any 18 inch woofer without streching the widh of the cabinet to 24 inches.
Meanwhile right now in Oslo:
